Setting up Reality Trips in 2018, has not only allowed other travellers with a passion for photography to experience his travels on their own, but the overland nature of his itineraries has helped bring ethical and sustainable tourism opportunities to remote and sometimes forgotten communities.
Marty believes the income from responsible tourism can give traditional families the hand up they need to start their own small business, at the same time helping whole communities leave poverty behind.
“Traditional communities are in a current state of transition between ancient practices, and the younger generations desire for a more modern life. As visiting photographers, we are in a unique position to respectfully capture and preserve these vanishing lifestyles, while also providing a modest income to local communities and charities helping out on the ground“.

Be a traveller, not a tourist…
