Specialists in Photographic Road Trips for Independant Travellers
Researching a photographic trip to a new country for the first time can be a long and difficult task… Many questions need to be answered like where to go, when to go, how to get there, where to stay, and what to photograph.
If your a traveller or photographer that likes to get off the beaten path, we have independently researched, travelled and written 6 Photographic Road Trips overland through 16 exotic countries, and made them available to the adventurous travel photographer looking for inspiration.
No tour guides, photo workshops or large groups crammed in a tour bus, just the freedom of a private 4WD and local driver taking you on a photographic road trip through some of the most amazing locations in the world.
From local villages in the deserts of Rajasthan in India, to the tribes of Omo Valley Ethiopia, Egypt, Jordon and South East Asia, our road trips are specially designed to provide a wide variety of unique photographic opportunities
to small groups of travellers, while also providing a modest income to our local drivers, their families and traditional communities that you will visit.
Help support community spirit en route with a visit to our Partner Charities. Why not photograph the great work they do for disadvantaged people, communities and animals in return. Visit and donation included.
Independent travel photography has never been easier! With our self-guided photographic itineraries, route maps, cars, drivers, hotels, restaurants and activities all organized, your group need not worry about a thing except getting that perfect shot.
If your a solo traveller, or a small group of friends interested in capturing world heritage sites while gaining a unique insight into traditional cultures, our 25 day road trips are a great start for the independent traveller or photographer looking for an overland adventure.
Marty Henri – Australian photographer and founder of Reality Trips Photography Tours, has been a commercial / advertising photographer for over 35 years. Leaving the studio behind 10 years ago to travel, he is now photographing exotic and remote parts of the world selling his travel photos to news, editorial and commercial image buyers world wide…Gallery
Setting up Reality Trips in 2018, has not only allowed other travellers with a passion for photography to experience his travels on their own, but the overland nature of his itineraries has helped bring ethical and sustainable tourism opportunities to remote and sometimes forgotten communities.
Marty believes the income from responsible tourism can give traditional families the hand up they need to start their own small business, at the same time helping whole communities leave poverty behind.

“Traditional communities are in a current state of transition between ancient practices, and the younger generations desire for a more modern life. As visiting photographers, we are in a unique position to respectfully capture and preserve these vanishing lifestyles, while also providing a modest income to local communities and charities helping out on the ground“.
